Hui'an Yongfengyu Stone Co., Ltd. undertook the stone carving project for the reconstruction of the Earth Mother Temple in Lingyuan City, Liaoning Province. Earth Mother Temple Located in Zhangzi Town, Lingyuan City. The Earth Mother, also known as "Di Zhi" in ancient times, evolved from the land worship and female worship of early people. The saying goes, "Pan Gu and Fu Xi represent the patriarchal reverence, while Nu Wa and the Earth Mother represent the matriarchal incarnation." The Lingyuan Earth Mother Temple is called the "Number One Mother Temple in the World." The palace uses white granite to carve six-tusked divine elephants, four-faced Guanyin with water spraying, dragon wells, and eighteen Arhats. The six-tusked divine elephant symbolizes peace and strength. The elephant carved by Yongfengyu Company has particularly thick legs, ears as large as palm fans, bright eyes, a drooping and upward-curving trunk, and three upward-curving tusks on each side of the nostrils, revealing a strong and amiable, honest and loyal appearance. The four-faced Guanyin is formed by combining four single Guanyin statues (Dharma Wheel Guanyin, Pure Bottle Guanyin, Child-Giving Guanyin, Lotus Guanyin) into one, meticulously carved in sections and seamlessly joined together. The Guanyin figure is plump, with a high bun, a small Buddha on top of her head, a round face, and a peaceful expression. One Guanyin holds a baby, and the other three hold a Dharma wheel, a pure bottle, and a lotus flower respectively, embodying both gentle compassion and solemn artistic image. Nine Arhat statues stand on each side of the four-faced Guanyin, either holding a bowl, supporting a pagoda, digging their ears, meditating, stretching, laughing happily, or accompanied by deer, elephants, dragons, and tigers. Their expressions are lifelike, their shapes simple and concise, their clothes natural and well-fitting. Exaggerated techniques are used in the fine carving, integrating people and objects, and creating a dynamic atmosphere. The temple also uses white stone, Han white jade, to carve railings, Sumeru bases, an 8-meter-high Buddhist pagoda, bluestone, and a nine-dragon staircase, etc. The nine dragons have different shapes and move freely, majestic and powerful.
