Tianzhuyan Temple is located on Xianyue Mountain, north of Lianyue Road in Huli District, Xiamen City. The temple's construction began in the late Qing Dynasty (1712-1722). Before the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, the temple was destroyed by war and reduced to ruins. In 1998, it was approved by the Xiamen Municipal Government to rebuild Tianzhuyan Temple. From 2018 to 2019, Hui'an Yongfengyu Stone Materials Co., Ltd. undertook the stone carving project of the Three Treasures Hall, the Yakushi Hall, and the releasing pond of the temple. Qingdou stone, sesame white and sesame gray granite, Shanxi black and Han white marble were used respectively. Four coiled dragon pillars and 24 five hundred Arhats pillars stand around the Three Treasures Hall. The five hundred Arhats carved on the stone pillars have different facial expressions, spirits, clothing, and postures. Some are old, some are young; some are beautiful, some are ugly; some stand, some sit, some lie down; some are angry, some are happy; some are lost in thought, some are sitting and discussing. They are unique and lively, moving and touching. The Yakushi Hall has a 100-meter Sumeru base and a 50-square-meter Han white marble Sumeru Buddha seat. The carvings on the Sumeru base are rich and magnificent. There are 40 flying sky square pillars standing in the releasing pond, about 2000 meters of stone railings, 300 stone lanterns, 20 stone water tanks with a diameter of 2 meters, and water dragons spraying from four sides, which is spectacular. Thirty-three Guanyin incarnations stand on the railings, each holding willow branches, lotus flowers, green leaves, scriptures, Buddhist scriptures, boxes, fish baskets, glass incense burners, etc., some leaning on their cheeks, some sitting cross-legged, some hugging their knees, carved in various poses, beautiful and natural. Outside the hall, there are 4 free Guanyin statues and a 6-meter-high four-faced Guanyin statue, exquisitely carved and kind and beautiful.
